Hampstead golf Club was founded in 1893 and is recognised as one of the most testing 9-hole courses in the south of England. It is also the closest golf course to the centre of London.
The course is 5,812 yards in length off the men's medal tees with a par of 68. The ladies medal tees provide a 5,368 yard test with a par of 72. The classic parkland layout consists of seven par 4s and two par 3s and includes some stunning views of north London. It was laid out by the well-known Scottish course designer Tom Dunn who laid out more courses in Great Britain than any other designer. Dunn was part of a famous family in the golfing world who originally came from Musselburgh; Tom's brother Willie Dunn Jr won the US Open in 1894.
