Hampstead Golf Club is situated just 4 miles from the centre of London in Winnington Road N2, close to the famous Spaniards Inn pub that once served as a changing room for club members.
Directions to the club
From Central London:
Head for the A41 and/or signs for Swiss Cottage and Hampstead; proceed along the A41 passing Lord’s Cricket Ground on the left; less than one mile past the cricket ground is Swiss Cottage where you follow signs for the B511 into Hampstead; proceed straight along this road up the hill, passing the tube station on your right where the road becomes the A502, Heath Street; continue straight up the hill, through a set of traffic lights next to Whitestone Pond and take the second exit at the nearby Jack Straws roundabout onto the B519, Spaniards Road; proceed straight through the old toll gate next to the Spaniards Inn pub and take the next left, Winnington Road which is about 100yds ahead; the golf club is 150 yards along Winnington Road on the left hand side and marked with a signpost on the right hand side of the road. The journey from central London should take approximately 20-25 minutes in normal traffic.
From the North (M1):
turn off the M1 at junction 1 (Staples Corner) and take the A406 East direction; immediately as you clear the exit roundabout, stay left and do not actually join the A406, but follow the signs for A41 and you will travel up towards another roundabout where you turn right and cross over the A406. Proceed south along the A41 (Hendon Way) for approx 0.5 of a mile where you will turn left at a set of traffic lights into Cricklewood Lane. At the next set of traffic lights (approx 0.25 of a mile) turn left onto Finchley Road and then proceed into Golders Green where you will find the main roundabout (after another 0.25 of a mile) at which you turn right onto the A502 North End Road which later becomes North End Way. At the top of a hill, turn hard left at the small Jack Straws roundabout onto Spaniards Road; proceed through the toll gate next to the Spaniards Inn pub take the next left, Winnington Road; the golf club is signposted 150 yards along Winnington Road on the left hand side.The journey from the M1 exit should take approximately 10-15 minutes in normal traffic.
Parking
The club car park is restricted for members only but there is plenty of free on-street parking along Winnington Road and in nearby Ingram Avenue.
